I have just looked at my configuration and I have a 15 alpha-numeric (no special characters) set on my GV account that I use with PIAF.

As @ markrmcs suggested, you could also look in the GUI to change those settings.

Just thinking aloud .. but if you are using the script to send the mp3 in an email, could you not put a copy of that mp3 in the correct location on the file system? If not mistaken, the system converts it on the fly once a recording is left.

I don't know Kubuntu, but know some distros have sounds muted by default. Just throwing it out there - did you check to see if the source of sound is muted?

Did you run the raspi-config? to not only increase the filesystem to use the full card but to also turn that baby into Turbo mode? :) You could also lower the "GPU"

I know rossiv is trying to help out - but is there not an option in GV to disable voicemail? I seem to recall it being there, but am not 100%. I never log into my GV phone account.
