    iPhone SIP Phone

Thanks for the article. I'm trying out Acrobitis on a friend iPhone and it works remarkably well on 3G even with GSM. Their push technology (any idea how this works ?) wakes up the client. I also tried SipDroid on a G1 phone and the results were not impressive. One way audio and garbled GSM. I...

    iPhone SIP Phone

Experiences ? I'm looking into Acrobits as well. Can you share your experiences ? I'm especially interested in 3G connectivity. What codecs are you using ? How is the voice quality ? Do you run Acrobits in the background ? Any issues with registration ? George

Mondo Whole Disk Backup w/ SATA?

SATA and Raid 1. It went ok. The only thing I did not like was that the drive synching of Raid 1 was done during the recovery so it took a long time. I would prefer for synch to kick in after recovery when the system is up. I'm sure there is a way but I did not look it up yet. George

    PIAF Running on Compact Flash

Astlinux is a great distro I run Astlinux for my home server for a couple of years and it is a great distro. A large amount of work went into fitting Linux and asterisk into 48 MB (if I remember correctly) device. Astlinux is based on Busy Box and to trim CentOS to this size you would probably...

IVR - caller hears ring only from 1st selection

Resolved. No wonder that nobody replied, this issue was self inflicted. I was in a transition period moving my server from home to colocation. I had a server running at home behind a NAT with 1 laggard external SIP device that I had a problem to move to the new server, and at the same time I...

    iptables problem

I wonder if this is a 'passive' ftp issue. If I remember correctly, passive ftp mode actually uses more ports than the standard 21. Check this out http://slacksite.com/other/ftp.html I have given up on remote ftp, usually use scp for file transfers and http for provisioning. Can you provision...

    Colocation - PIAF

I'm colocating I used to have a Lylix VPS (8GB space, one flight up from the bottom price) but have replaced that with colocation. With Lylix I was experiencing "bottleneck" issues with ssh and https. There were times when my remote connection would froze for 10-20 seconds and then it would go...

IVR - caller hears ring only from 1st selection

Can't figure this out. I have an IVR with 4 selections and a timeout. Each selection points to an extension. Once a callers calls, a message is playing and caller can press 1 or 2 or 3 (4th is hidden DISA). Once the caller presses the options the call is properly transferred to an extension...

    e164 Won't Pass Calls

The problem you are experiencing is not with the e164.org, it is with a crappy tollfree gateway and some bugs in enumlookup.agi. There is a thread that I started a while ago http://pbxinaflash.com/community/threads/enum-practical-usage-experience.2750/?t=2750 that attempts to solve some of the...

    ENUM lookup not finding results

Tony; FreePBX ticket is assigned to a lead developer but not reviewed. I just noticed that the gateways that used to give me issues have improved somewehat. voipmich errors out quickly so the dialplan can try next in line, sip-happens is connecting releatively quicky. So for the time being I...

power efficient PC suggestions for PiF?

checkout ebox If you want silent and low power the you might want to check ebox products. I'm using eBOX-2300 200MHz VESA PC (yes 200MHz) with Astlinux (Asterisk on embeded devices) with 4 GB CF, I have 6 DID's on it, and from what I can see in terms of CPU usage it can handle 5 concurrent...

Warnings in /var/log/messages As it turned out my changes have created 1 warning only. I have corrected the displacment warnings and posted new version of enumlookup.agi in the original thread quoted here. The other warnings are from the original code, either from php dns_get_record or dig...

    ENUM lookup not finding results

I have reverted back to the original agi and the hit and miss lookup success against e164.org seems the same. The error messages from /var/log/messages are caused by my changes. I will fix that, meantime, you can revert back to the original agi, however I doubt that this warning messages...

    Outgoing fax and local routes

Actually I can add the prefix. All I had to do is to add a prefix of "1" to NUM2CALL (I call it NUM2CALLFAX) and modify some of the system statements that are present in [faxit] context. Once this done, calls prefixed with 1 drop from my local trunk and fall thru to my main out trunk where I...
