Ward and co have done a fantastic job on this.

However, everyone here should understand that these device will NOT support Commercial modules from Schmoozecom.

This is official from Schmoozecom.

The situation is not going to change until Zend is supported by ARM processors. (If ever)

So shame - but there you go.....

I am one sad bunny.....

What what commercial modules would you use on the pi or beaglebone?

FreePBX Commercial Modules (freepbx.org/commercial-modules) are typically written with the assumption of CentOS or RedHat Enterprise Linux, most PI and Beagleboard installs are Debian or Ubuntu based, so there is some basic file structure assumptions as well possible issues with RPMs or other dependencies not being installable for some of the modules. The other tougher issue is that commercial modules are Zend Encryped and require Zend Loader and Zend Guard to install and run, and Zend has no immediate plans to release a decrypter for ARM based platforms. We must encrypt the code to protect our investment in our paid modules, so until there is Zend support for ARM, there can be no commercial modules on PI, or Beagleboard. There has been some chatter on the ZEND forums that they are not opposed to developing for ARM, but don't yet see the ROI for that development. I would suggest those interested to post some request on their forums, because if the Zend folks don't know there is a market for ARM support it likely will not be developed. http://forums.zend.com/viewforum.php?f=57

Shows they are really marketing geniuses. Raspberry Pi sold 2 million boards in the last 20 months. And it looks like BeagleBoard Black will probably repeat the feat in the coming year. And how long would it take them to recompile their code? 30 minutes? An hour? Of course, they'd have to spend $35 + $45 to buy the two boards without seeing an immediate ROI. Stupid!
