The above is only a small sampling of it.

    What else.....

My dev box has a dynamic ip address which the box is named for and I also put an entry in the network section of webmin with the ipaddress alongside the 127.0.0.1 entry.

Have a look at your stuff and see if your permissions/ownership is similar and you are running all of the latest patches and you have .htaccess turned on using passwd-master. also I don't run iptables on the dev box. It also has the vary latest digium source on it as a security update came out yesterday but I was not having this problem before.....

Cool thing about the recordings I never knew it was in fpbx.....!

    Keep me posted

Hmm interesting.... The .htaccess file they are talking about is actually one that is put in by the install of freepbx. Since I don't have the problem and can't figure out why not sure what to suggest. I am sure Ward and Joe are looking at it now

Hi. I'm using PIAF 1.0. Is the instructions located at http://www.pbxinaflash.org/update_scripts.htm outdated?

When I try to install the update-scripts I get the following error:

    --22:35:16-- http://www.pbxinaflash.org/scripts/update-scripts.gz
    Resolving www.pbxinaflash.org... 216.239.128.70
    Connecting to www.pbxinaflash.org|216.239.128.70|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
    22:35:16 ERROR 404: Not Found.
gunzip: update-scripts.gz: No such file or directory
chmod: cannot access `update-scripts': No such file or directory

nope nothing wrong just tested it out on a virgin piaf 1.0 box and used install-updatescripts.x it successfully installed the update-scripts file and then successfully updated a virgin PIAF 1.0 system no problems. Try running the install-updatescripts.x program again. If you still have problems it has to be something to do with your internet connectivity. You can always download the update-scripts directly as follows again just tested this and it works fine.

    1. Log inot the cli as user root
    2. cd /usr/sbin
    3. wget http://pbxinaflash.org/scripts/update-scripts.gz

    4. gunzip update-scripts.gz
    5. chmod 744 update-scripts

Then you can run it. If you are still having problems check your internet connectivity as you seem to be the only one having a problem installing this file.

    regards

    re

Please pay attention at the format... install-updatescripts.x. should be install-update-scripts.x (or the other way). I had this issue 3 weekes ago, and by changing things around a little it worked.
Look carefully at the file name you are downloading and adjust the other commands accordingly...

Yea it worked fine for me on the third/fouth try. Don't think it was a connectivity problem at the time as it did say file not found. Thanks for everyone's help.

I've seen similar hiccups. Don't know why. If you lose connectivity after the updates, rerun netconfig and set your IP address again. Then shutdown your system completely and then reboot. Next, log in to FreePBX and see if your trunks are registering. Just take a look at the FreePBX System Status display. If they're not registered, first try amportal restart after logging in as root. If that doesn't fix it, try service network restart and then amportal restart again.

On one quirky system, the fixes simply wouldn't survive a reboot for me. Adding service network restart as the next to the last line in the /etc/rc.d/rc.local startup script finally did the trick.

I did not need the /
I was in the root directory
locate was faster but I had to wait for updatedb so I'm not sure it would be faster (thanks for telling me about a new tool :))
the problem was that I installed 1.0 and the files were not installed see darmok's reply for the answer that solved my problem
