update-fixes new version dec 22/07

Discussion in 'Bug Reporting and Fixes' started by darmock, Dec 22, 2007.

  1. darmock PIAF Developer

    Hi all

I have updated update-fixes to include patches for the following

    /var/www/html/

2 files needed some syntax correction

    login.php
    index.php

There was also a missing favicon.ico for this folder which is now corrected.

    How do I patch PIAF?

    1. Log into the CLI as user root
    2. Type update-scripts and then tap the ENTER key
    3. When this has completed, type update-fixes and then tap the ENTER key
    4. You will be presented with a complete log of things and a copy will be emailed to user root on your piaf box.

Cannot find the command update-scripts on the box
    find -name update-scripts
    comes back with nothing
when executed from root of system Version of PIAF 1.0

    /

    you forgot the /

    try:
    Code:
    find / -name update-scripts
personally I use locate (its faster).. just remember to run updatedb first..

    like so:
    Code:
    root@pbx:~ $ updatedb
    root@pbx:~ $ locate update-scripts

Please excuse the noob, but how come I can run this directly on the machine, but not from the webmin command shell? It just tells me bask: update-fixes: command not found
    Same for help-pbx

    What am I doing wrong?

Not sure if this is related, but webmin is now crashing when I click on some menu items like file manager, ssh telnet login, not sure what is causing this it just started...
  5. darmock PIAF Developer

PIAF 1.0 did not have update-scripts installed Go here

    http://www.pbxinaflash.org/update_scripts.htm

    and follow the simple directions.

Once you have installed this script you will be able to follow the above steps.

all scripts except one are located in /usr/local/sbin

You might want to hold on a few hours as there is a security patch I am going to release as soon as I get it worked in.

Thanks, but I actually have the newer version. I also just clicked on the java ssh link in freepbx and my browser closed. Also happens in firefox.
Seems I am having a java issue now, it has nothing to do with the pbx or webmin.

    Thanks

  10. darmock PIAF Developer

I have finished patching the update-fixes.

    Simply run

    update-scripts

    and then

    update-fixes

    and everything will be well

    Tom

this should be 1.1.6 of the update-scripts
  11. titodj Member

    Thanks... that did the trick!!!

    re update-fixes

yes it did, however, when you go to system recording and you are trying to play any of the build in recordings (including the anouncements) this is what i get:
You don't have permission to access /admin/modules/recordings/popup.php on this server.
any idea how to fix this? I think it's a permission issue...
  13. darmock PIAF Developer

First off how are you attempting to play these recordings? What specifically is giving you this error?

    Tom
  14. mp1111 New Member

    re update scripts

    yes,

Trying to play them from the webpage... (like a preview before you actually put it in)
it was working fine before, it just stopped working (on all my boxes)
    plz help...
  15. darmock PIAF Developer

I suppose I am not following you what steps exactly are you doing on the webpage?

    1. Open web browser
    2. http:/ipaddress/admin/modules/recordings/popup.php

if you are trying to do this you won't be able to due to .htaccess This is not a bug I am afraid.

However I defer to greater minds than my own out there.

    Tom
  16. mp1111 New Member

Here is what I do:(step by step)
    -Go to system recodings
-select from right menu built in recordings
-from the drop down list select any recording (in this case please-stay-on-line-to-be-connected)
    -click on go button
-it will open a new page where u can see the recording with a blue speaker beside it
    -click on the speaker
    -get the error

Is it just me? tom, can you try this and let me know if this works on your test box?
  17. I have this error too...

Only, I am trying to listen to a recording I made. Apache log is:
