For those that like watching sausage being made...

Asterisk 12 is actually working. Just the status display is wrong. IP6Tables and DAHDI just needed to be started. I suspect Apache is the same issue we saw with Fedora 20. Stay tuned...

Centos7 moved away from iptables in favor of firewalld. I am working up a set of services and zones as a side project

CentOS and Fedora still support both firewalls actually. We'll use iptables for a bit longer until we're sure firewalld works reliably across all platforms including Debian/Ubuntu and ARM. I keep remembering the history of Apache and SendMail. I'm not overly enthusiastic about going down a new road of potential security vulnerabilities (especially with a firewall).

Excellent recommendation....! There have been some interesting problems with firewalld over the last little bit. Has potential though but not ready for prime time just yet.

p.s. firewalld was still in Release Candidate status less than a month ago with Fedora 20. Version 0.3 should tell you everything you need to know. :beta1:

Will the 64-bit Ubuntu run on Foxconn?? Maybe it's a 32-bit limitation of some component.

No, the regular install DVD ISO from the link above. I have tried the Fedora20 Live ISO and it does the same thing. I can post the exact error when I get back home later today.

Ok so I figured it out. On both Fedora 20 and CentOS 7 I had to go into the Troubleshooting menu rather than right into Install. Then I had to choose basic graphic install. From there it went on without issue. So, it would appear that it has an issue with the GMA 3150 chip that is in my Foxconn nt535 box.

And after playing with both for a little bit now, I think I like CentOS 7 better if just for the fact that it acts more like Gnome 2 with the menus.

What installer or Nerd Vittles article should I use to install PIAF on CentOS 7?
