I'm having trouble sharing voicemail with two extensions. In the past I've been able to get it to work. Basically, I have two extensions: 701 & 702

1) I've enabled voicemail on both of them and called each extension to create the voicemail folders.

2) I delete extension 702 voicemail folder in:
Code:
/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/702

3) Then, I created a symlink:
Code:
ln -s 701 702

4) Lastly, I checked the owner on the symlink folder and it's:
Code:
asterisk:asterisk

However, when I call extension 702 the VM plays back "Extension 702 is busy..."

Any ideas?

BTW, I'm running Unbuntu 14.04 (x86) with Incredible 12, Asterisk 12.8

I'm in Userdevice mode, but pull up your extension for 702 and make sure the mail box settings looks the same as 701; this should work.

Yes. They are both 701@device

I tried the easier method of changing the "Mailbox" setting in FreePBX is they were both the same but that didn't work so I went with the symlink process.
