I was wandering though my proxy logs and found that
the pbx has been going to

    http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.csv?

every day at 6am since feb 12....

    this is the full url..
    http://finance.yahoo.com/d/quotes.c...ND=X USDYER=X USDZMK=X USDZWD=X USDGYD=X&f=l1

    My ipcop blacklist stopped it...

I know that on Feb 11, I did an yum update and installed openfire server as well as queuemetrics...

Has anyone else seen similar results?

Any ideas where to look for what is initiating this url ?

PS I have not installed the newsclips script

    Fyi

NewsClips does NOT go out on its own to anywhere. Only if someone makes a call to 511 and requests a news feed does the application go to Yahoo to obtain the current RSS news feed. The same goes for ALL of the Nerd Vittles software unless we expressly tell you otherwise... up front.

I did a Google search on "USDXPD" which was part of the link above.

It returned a link to A2Billing. From the contents of the link you provided, it appears that the software is going out to Yahoo once a day for the currency exchange rates. Joe will confirm as soon as he gets to Charleston. :smile5:

    Hi

If you have A2Billing installed, there is a Cron job set up that goes up to Yahoo and downloads all the latest currency exchange rates for doing multi-currency accounts in A2Billing.

PS. Arrived safely in Charleston ;-)
