Polycom Kirk (DECT) sets.... is there an Endpoint Manager Module?

hope the answer isn't :rolleyes5: obvious....

I downloaded/installed the Polycom config file Template. But it doesn't contain any of the Kirk equipment.

Quick advice on how to get a module for them?
I've got a "slightly larger than SOHO" setup (6 lines, 8 DECT handsets) running the Kirk WS6000 series system.

All handsets are happy to see each other and make in/outbound calls.

I was highly recommended to do the Kirk system due to quality of handset and audio.. but it seems a bit sparse on support on anything Asterisk....

    Any recommendations?

Sending me the configuration files would help

thx for the reply. I'm not sure I know which config files you need.

Please bear with me on this - I'm not a technical guru, and while I'm comfortable enough in *nix to get myself in trouble, I am trying to run a company, not develop a side business in telephony....

I went into the Tools side, to EndPoint Device List.

    It shows:

    Welcome to Endpoint Manager!
You have no products (Modules) installed, click here to install some

So I click "here" to install, "checked for updates", found Polycom, ran the install of Polycom (which it found and downloaded).

However the Polycom list does not contain any of the KIRK series systems. It's got four types of SoundPoint IP ad VVX series models (with 2-10 models each), but NO Kirk series (KWS300/600/6000/8000, etc).

So how does one install an endpoint configuration for a phone? where does one find it i it's not in the mfr listing? (is that Polycom package FROM Polycom, or is it something that somebody else ducttaped together??).

    tx

Duck-tapped seems like such a derogatory term. Unfortunately no manufacturers will participate in the endpoint manager project because it helps facilitate customers discovering what phone brand is actually best for them setting aside the configuration knowledge that the customers usually to have to have to work with specific brands.

Anyways I will look at the Polycom site for these models and see what I can do for you.

    Thx for the info.
I didn't realize that the endpoint manager project was a grassroots project.

Polycom seems to like to keep Kirk info 'under wraps' as much as possible - - I had to present a registration code and a system serial # in order to get basic system info for the Kirk system.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Kirk's 5000 series handsets are really quite good quality, but I'm also looking for some third party compatible (hoping to avoid the ~$200/handset figure!!). Will cross that bridge somewhere down the road...

On another (side) note, I gotta toss out a plug for IncrediblePBX, though probably for no reason other than its well-done preconfigs for Vitelity and others. I was having a real issue getting calls thru, and when I reloaded it, all was made well....

MacNix - While Polycom does like to keep a tight lid on things, the registration code and serial # is merely for creating a unique node for the DECT stuff. It's similar to having a unique SSID for wifi stuff.

As far as the configs, what he's looking for is the actual txt config files used to configure the devices. Sounds like you did most of it via the gui/web interface, but you may be able to dump the config from the gui. That would have all the model specific settings that he can use to generate a template for the Endpoint Manager.
