As of March 13, 2014 @ 0844 Eastern *NEW*

CURRENT ISO VERSION

2.0.6.5.0 - 32 & 64 Bit NOTE it is recommended you DESTROY any older ISO's you have and use only the most current ISO. Future versions of the payloads will no longer work with earlier versions of the ISO's. This has been done to ensure reliability and keep the signal to noise ratio down.

This is the last release of a Centos based ISO due to certain trademark and other legal issues. We NO LONGER recommend Centos as the platform OS. We have moved over to Scientific Linux which does not have these problems and they provide the tools to ensure you won't.

THIS VERSION IS DEPRECATED! However we will continue to support it for a while.

Please move over to the Scientific Linus based minimal install and use the PBX in a Flash Version 3.6.5 Installer instead. We are looking at publishing our own PIAF-OS.

Centos 6 Video/keyboard problems

This has finally been put to rest we think.

There is a -txt switch which will run the install in text mode only.

Thus

piafdl -txt

Will run it in text mode and you do not need to use your arrow keys!

CURRENT PAYLOAD VERSIONS NEW INSTALLS

The list below is the default version of Asterisk that PBX in a Flash distributes. In other words when you do a NEW install from OUR ISO (Which is the only supported way) and choose one of the menu choices these are the versions you will get installed by DEFAULT. This applies to PBX in a Flash 2.0.6.X ONLY!

PBX in a Flash Purple
Asterisk 1.8.26.1
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.9.0+2.9.0.1
Release version 3.0.4

PBX in a Flash RED has been deprecated and is no longer supported. No further updates will occur and this option will be removed in a future release of PIAF.

PBX in a Flash Red
Asterisk 10.12.4
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.8.0.1+2.8.0
Release version 3.0.3

PBX in a Flash Brown
Certified Asterisk 1.8.15-cert5
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.8.0.1+2.8.0
Release version 3.0.4

PBX in a Flash Green
Asterisk 11.8.1
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.9.0+2.9.0.1
Release version 3.0.4

PBX in a Flash Yellow
Certified Asterisk 11.6-cert2
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.9.0+2.9.0.1
Release version 3.0.4

PBX in a Flash Black *
Asterisk 12.1.1
Libpri 1.4.14
Dahdi 2.9.0+2.9.0.1
Release version 3.0.4

*The first release version of Asterisk 12.0 is out! Still no freepbx 212 yet. You can play with Asterisk 12 but you will have to hand configure it.

UPDATE-SOURCE - EXISTING INSTALLS

You can update existing version of Asterisk in the same family by using the EXPERIMENTAL update-source program. You cannot upgrade between families! Thus you CANNOT upgrade between Asterisk 1.8.X to 10.X.

The file located in /etc/pbx/digiumsource.conf controls versioning and can be changed to upgrade or downgrade. In order to use this program you must specify the version you want to use WITHOUT the beta_ preface! Thus in order to install Asterisk 1.8.7.2 you would change

Eventually there will be an upgrade OS choice that will allow you to go from one minor increment to the next within CENTOS however...... There will never ever be an in place upgrade to go from one Major release of Centos to the next. For example Centos 6.5 to Centos 7.X This is not supported by the upstream vendors.

PASTERISK="asterisk-1.8.7.2"

NOTE this program is EXPERIMENTAL! Experimental means just that it can break your system! We use it every day on our commercial projects BUT who know what customizations you have done. There is NO SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR USING UPDATE-SOURCE! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY! YOUR SYSTEM MAY CRASH! ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!

What does 2.0.6.5.0 MEAN?

The version number refers to the INSTALLED ISO VERSION ONLY! It has nothing to do with the actual versions of the programs we have created.

thus for the current ISO

2.0.6.5.0 =

2.0= The Pbx in a Flash Version. The next version will be 2.1

6.5 = The version of Centos. Then next version of centos is 6.6

.0 = This is the release version of the ISO only. Sometimes the ISO's are updated when new rpm's or kernels are available.

Just an FYI that we are rolling out an updated FreePBX 2.11 image as part of new installs. It does the following:

Cleaned up/updated a bunch of the FreePBX modules to bring them current. We do this as part of the install anyway, but this speeds up new installs a bit. Also disabled sqlite modules in modules.conf that were causing lockups with high call volume. We only use sqlite for PIAF registry, not Asterisk. Also turned off Kennonsoft menu overlay which was causing WebMin not to load or to come up blank. Added the index_custom.php file to /var/www/html to keep PIAF Kennonsoft menus working after Schmooze changes to index.php. We always remove DUNDI secrets from Asterisk DB. These are regenerated when you start Asterisk on your new PIAF server.
