HI,

I have Piaf Purple with Incredible and 6 Linksys PAP2TNA.

All work good except when I dial an extension or external number I have a 5 to 10 seconds delay before it actually dials the numbers.

Anyway to reduce that delay ? Would that be a setting in Piaf or the ATA's ?

Thanks

Rick

its actually "S0" ( a zero) and means short digit timer "0" seconds..

I'd share my dial plan but unless the OP is in England its not all that much good..

and yes, you can use "#" to override the timeout. I do this on some test trunks access codes I have between sites as they are used to test both internal and external routing and therefore the dialled numbers can be of variable length.

actually even UK numbers can be of variable length (some areas still have 5 digit local numbers and there might be one remaining village in the middle of nowhere with 4 digits) but the shorter ones aren't dialled that often so most people put up with the delay...

Only put the basic dial plan in place should not be more than 2-4 dial patterns

Thanks everyone.

I tested dialing the numbers and adding a # at the end works great.

I will test S0 in the Dial plan in the ATAs.

Thanks

here is another question.

If I have an extension that is forwarded to an external number, would I need to add the # at the end of the number forwarding to ?
Since the dial plan would be using the one in Piaf?

Thanks

I have this default dial pattern on each ATAs.

(*xx|[3469]11|0|00|[2-9]xxxxxx|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.)

Should I add S0 at the end of each pattern right before the | ?

Thanks

Another caveat is normally FreePBX is set up to use escape digit "9" to get an outside line.

The standard "out of the box" PAP2T dial plan is clearly intended for a home user in the USA/Canada dial plan (I think its called NANP and is common to both USA and Canada) where no escape digit is used.

so if Rick is using "9" as escape digit he will need at least

9[2-9]xxxxxxS0
91xxx[2-9]xxxxxxS0
9[3469]11S0

and similar entries for whatever other numbers would be dialled externally..
