Hi,

I tried to install piaf on a vps server tonight. Nothing seems to work. I just wanted to show that to the dev so if there is anything that can be usefull to them.

I followed the instructions here: http://blog.ls20.com/install-pbx-in-a-flash-piaf-on-digitalocean/

I'm using vps cloud from ovh (VMware® ESXi) with centos 6.5 64 bits.
I selected the piaf 2.0.6.5 green version with freepbx 2.11.0.35, asterisk 11.10.0.

Right now, asterisk is offline and not working, dahdi: unknow, mysql offline, iptables offline

I'm take a closer look at this tomorrow but should I consider redoing the installation?

Thanks for the input!

Looking at that tutorial, it's a very roundabout way of doing things. Mounting an (older) ISO and doing all kind of unnecessary stuff.
Check out Ward's article here: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=9236

Thanks for following my tutorial. I took a quick look at your log file. A forum search led to these threads which are related and provide a fix:

http://pbxinaflash.com/community/index.php?threads/fix-mysql-db-error.14750/
http://pbxinaflash.com/community/index.php?threads/mysql-error-freepbx-wont-start.15534/

This seems to be a rare issue. If the install didn't finish, however, you may need to redo the installation.

Alternatively you can follow Ward's article as mentioned by rossiv. The steps in my tutorial are from "ks.cfg" in the 2.0.6.5 official ISO, and are not unnecessary. If you open up Ward's PIAF3 install script you will see similar steps as well. While you can choose to install PIAF3 instead of PIAF2, I believe that you will get the latest Asterisk and FreePBX either way, as made available by the PIAF team.

For your information, asterisk and iptables are still down with Ward's piaf3 script. Here is the new log.

The issue might be related to the fact that OVH is using custom kernel:
You do not appear to have the sources for the 3.8.13-xxxx-grs-ipv6-64-vps kernel installed

And asterisk failed to compile...

Haven't looked at ESXi in a good long while. If you're having trouble, there are numerous threads on the forum dealing with ESXi. Another approach is to get CentOS 6.5 or Scientific Linux 6.5 loaded under ESXi so that it's working and can be booted. Once you get that far, just use the Incredible PBX install script which will get you everything else. I'd stay away from CentOS 7 for the time being. The tutorial covers both.
