Losing Inbound audio

While connected on a call will lose the inbound audio, the other side can still hear me. (you have to be careful what you say at this point!!) have added the externip settings per instructions in sip_custom.conf. Not sure if same issue is causing but if you get put on hold the call will sometimes drop.
    Thanks
  2. I'm not sure, but it sounds like the router is timing out the NAT connection (since the outgoing audio originates from inside your network, the router doesn't "time out," but perhaps the outside connection does - it's worth a shot). If you haven't already, you may want to set up port forwarding on your router and open the following ports:
If you are using SIP for external calls:
    UDP 5060-5082
    UDP 10000-20000

If you are using IAX2 for external calls:
    UDP 4569

and point them to the internal IP of your server.

This way the router keeps these connections open (always) and shouldn't close a connection down while in process.

    Ports open

ports are being forwarded to pbx ip. inbound audio loss especially when on hold at a large company and is not all the time.

    Thanks

If you are still having issues, you should post more technical details about your connection, router, etc.

Audio loss is happening with the same load of pbif 1.1 on multiple systems. one is on a fios 20/5 business connection with a linksys wrt54g router which was changed out from the verizon supplied MI424WR, another is on a 8/1.5 comcast connection with their supplied gateway/router. The common thing here seems to be voicepulse. Is is possible that the supplier is the issue?

Could be, but it is more likely it's something on your end. Since it's happening with multiple sites & isp's, you should carefully go over your trunk settings. Especially the inbound (user details) settings.

Another thing to look at are your extension settings. If you have re-invites set to yes (canreinvite=yes), change it to no.

    Good luck!

A WRT54G router may no be able to keep up with a FIOS speed connection. I've seen people talk about having to change out their router because of FIOS. Do you have another more powerful router you can test with?

check the UDP timeout, I've heard that connections get lost if the timeout is too short like less than 60
