File migration has started; uploads, file management, and interactive shell access will be unavailable for approximately 6 hours

I will upload the tar for you, it'll take awhile.. but it'd be better than 6 hours. :)

Looks like it works again. ;)

Regarding the SheevaPlug, I was able to get FreePBX 2.11 and Asterisk 11.14.1 compiled from source, loaded and operational on it by following these two guides: http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/sheevaplug/ and http://wiki.freepbx.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=1409028. Note that I used the Ubuntu FreePBX tutorial, not the Debian one - the Debian tutorial requested dependencies that were not available for the armel kernel. I also tried implementing the Incredible PBX installer (modified) for the Beaglebone Black but because the BBB RASPBX image is populated with certain programs which the IPBX installer assumes are there, on the Sheevaplug it ended up borking the FPBX/Asterisk install. I might try copying and pasting some of the NV routines from my other working IPBX installs on other platforms so that I have as much of that functionality on the Sheevaplug. Will report back on my progress. I can also report that FPBX on the Sheevaplug is very responsive in fact it appears at least as quick as my BBB running IPBX. You can find used Sheevaplugs for less than $20.00 so definitely worth the investment if you plan on using one for a PBX.

Hey everyone, I got my pogoplug on it and got PIAF running smoothly! I'm in love so far! How do you set a static IP on one of these baddies? Do I follow the usual Debian route or do I have to do it a special way?

Looks like I broke something using information from the Debian wiki.. I can connect to it fine, but PIAF spazzes and inbound/outbound internet ceases to work.

In my case I handle setting the IP from my router. I'm using a Linksys E4200 and it allows "DHCP reservation." In other words, while it is managing IPs via DHCP, you can tell it to provide a particular IP to any given client based on MAC address. Thus, the local network IP of my Pogo never changes.

Not much of an issue, in reality, because the Pogo has been continuously powered-up and running smoothly now for "10 weeks, 2 days, 17 hours, 32 minutes". :)

Settings for the networks are in /etc/network/interfaces file

Stupid question, but how do you remove IPs added with /root/add-ip?

Adding Wireless Networking to the Pogoplug (works on both Pogoplug 4 models in the NV article)

I successfully installed Incredible PBX for Pogoplug 4--thanks Ward!

Then I ordered the AirLink101 AWLL5088 via the Amazon link Ward provided (I received an AWLL5088V2).

I haven't been able to get WiFi to work reliably. Sometimes it connects OK, but it takes a long time. Sometimes it just won't connect, and usually this is what happens:

Code:
Listening on LPF/wlan0/xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Sending on LPF/wlan0/xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Sending on Socket/fallback
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 7
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 7
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 10
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 7
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 7
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 9
DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 13
No DHCPOFFERS received.
No working leases in persistent database - sleeping.

And this is what I see from dmesg (from a different test run):

Code:
[ 5259.673207] rtl8192cu: MAC auto ON okay!
[ 5259.711106] rtl8192cu: Tx queue select: 0x05
[ 5260.092305] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
[ 5260.875739] wlan0: authenticate with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
[ 5260.895475] wlan0: direct probe to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 1/3)
[ 5261.105451] wlan0: direct probe to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 2/3)
[ 5261.315440] wlan0: direct probe to xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (try 3/3)
[ 5261.525444] wlan0: authentication with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx timed out

Here's the relevant info from lsmod:

Code:
rtl8192cu 88585 0
rtl_usb 11681 1 rtl8192cu
rtlwifi 70817 2 rtl_usb,rtl8192cu
rtl8192c_common 53511 1 rtl8192cu
mac80211 443095 3 rtl_usb,rtlwifi,rtl8192cu
cfg80211 371257 2 mac80211,rtlwifi
orion_wdt 2993 0
rfkill 15784 1 cfg80211

The problem seems to be with authenticating/associating. So I tried connecting to a different AP which was configured without encryption, without MAC address filtering, and with a public SSID--but the problem remains.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think it's a low signal or have the wrong SSID or password.
iwlist scan
It will list the APs and it's signal (Quality= */100)

Thanks Ward.

I've looked at tens of articles from that search, tried various things, including a different firmware, but haven't found the magic solution.

I did notice that not always but sometimes when the device fails to associate, I'm getting an rfkill (SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill). rfkill unblock all doesn't clear it, but it is cleared by a power cycle.

I tried the AWLL5088V2 on Windows, and it seems to work fine, but I don't have the same diagnostics there that I have with Debian, so I'm not sure.

Also I tried another AWLL5088V2, but the intermittent association problem remains.

Jeffrccar,

Thanks for the reply.

The association problem happens even without encryption, i.e. when there's no password, and it does work, albeit intermittently, i.e. the SSID is correct.

Here's what iwconfig wlan0 outputs when it is successfully associated:

Code:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:"xxxxxx"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:2.427 GHz Access Point: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
          Bit Rate=18 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm
          Retry short limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Power Management:off
          Link Quality=70/70 Signal level=-34 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

Howdy, first pogoplug post.

I've been using an Atcom IP02 at home for 4-5 years. It works okay, the FXS interface has never worked reliably, so I ended up using a Linksys PAP2T to connect my wireless phone. The big issue is there is no upgrade path, plus the hardware is aging.

I picked up a couple pogoplugs from Adorama, converted both to Debian boot with default boot capability retained. Followed the Incredible PBX install tutorial, now have a functioning pogoplug. I also used the $10 couple coupon to get a DigitalOcean droplet and installed Incredible PBX. I wanted to use the backup method described in the tutorial but before I proceed I have a question.

The pogoplug is running "Incredible PBX 11.12.0 for PogoPlug 4" and the droplet has this "Incredible PBX 11.13.1 for Ubuntu 14". Are these versions similar enough so I can use the backup method method to use the droplet to configure my pogoplug?

thanks
