Yep, just install incrediblepbx12 and fax 11, just need to do the pearDB hack, and everything works.

Tired of reformat the computer each time something fails!! I must have formatted the computer like 10 times and test incrediblepbx 11 and 12 , etc.. No idea how to upgrade from 11 to 12, so I believe i redid all the conf 1 by 1, which took me 12hours, but this is still less time spent than failing while migrating over 12..

l4cky I don't suppose you could list the steps (approx) you took? I've rebuilt a vm at least 10 times and just can't get the iax modems to work :helpsmilie:

sudo -i
pear uninstall db
pear install db-1.7.14

Problem solved.

The "Restricting registration for peer" notices continue ad infinitum. So apparently at oh-dark-thirty the fax modems decided to come online. Sure enough:
incrediblepbx*CLI> iax2 show peers
Name/Username Host Mask Port Status Description
iax-fax0 127.0.0.1 (D) (null) 4570 OK (3 ms)
iax-fax1 127.0.0.1 (D) (null) 4571 OK (3 ms)
iax-fax2 127.0.0.1 (D) (null) 4572 OK (3 ms)
iax-fax3 127.0.0.1 (D) (null) 4573 OK (1 ms)
4 iax2 peers [4 online, 0 offline, 0 unmonitored]
So I test by having a fax sent and it works. Not sure whether to laugh or cry. Wondering if I dare reboot it? Of course I'll have to test that.
Any way to clear out the notices every minute?

I did previously but not anymore. FWIW, this seems to have helped....

In iax_custom.conf I changed the "host" param from "dynamic" to "127.0.0.1". Modems are back up

incrediblepbx*CLI> iax2 show peers
Name/Username Host Mask Port Status Description
iax-fax0 127.0.0.1 (S) 255.255.255.255 4570 OK (3 ms)
iax-fax1 127.0.0.1 (S) 255.255.255.255 4571 OK (3 ms)
iax-fax2 127.0.0.1 (S) 255.255.255.255 4572 OK (1 ms)

iax-fax3 127.0.0.1 (S) 255.255.255.255 4573 OK (3 ms)

i am not able to get avantfax web gui to load on incredpbx13 on ubuntu 14.04 (http://192.168.239.111/avantfax gives me: The requested URL /avantfax was not found on this server.)

i ran the ./incrediblefax11_ubuntu14.sh (rebooted)
logged into Module Admin and the AvantFax module was already set to enabled
next i ran /root/avantfax-pw-change and got 2 errors: error 1146 ... table 'avantfax.UserAccount' doesn't exist, error 1146 ... table 'avantfax.UserPasswords' doesn't exist (though the script completed) (then i rebooted)

what can i do to troubleshoot?

Sounds like the script completely failed for you since you have neither the web app portion or the database tables needed. I honestly have not touched this script or my working server in months so it is probably time to review/update the script. I will not be able to get to it for at least a week or so though.
In the meantime, is this a fresh PIAF install? If so, you may find it easier to wipe and start over. If this is on a virtual machine or a box with LVM and you know how to use snapshots, I usually take a snapshot between after each successful step so I don't have to start completely from scratch. I can't help much there though, unless you happen to use Proxmox or ESXI virtual machines...

Incrediblefax11 is installed and seems to work, but iax modem status shows "Please wait" - is it normal to have both /usr/sbin/faxgetty and /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty running?

root@incrediblepbx:~# ps -ef | grep faxgetty
uucp 1283 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX1
uucp 1291 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX3
uucp 1292 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX2
uucp 1293 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX0
uucp 2160 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX0
uucp 2162 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX1
uucp 2164 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX2
uucp 2166 1 0 20:47 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty -D ttyIAX3

no, it's not. See my thread(s), as well as the Raspbian fix. The 2 getty's on each port start fighting wth each other.

faxgetty solution

Run the following command: ps aux | grep -c faxgetty

If the number reported is greater than 5, then remove the faxgetty lines from /etc/rc.local and /etc/rc.d/rc.local. Then reboot your server.

If the number reported is less than 5, then report back with the result.

thanks - number was greater than 5. my ubuntu 14 system doesn't have an /etc/rc.d directory. deleted faxgetty entries from /etc/rc.local & rebooted, now only have the 4 faxgetty processes running.
Still had "Please wait" for status. received faxes fine. Sending a fax resulted in a failure:
Password:Login failed: 500 'PASS '
Edited /var/spool/hylafax/etc/hosts.hfaxd and discovered it was missing the 127.0.0.1 entry after which i made that entry and now the iax modem status correctly shows Idle and i can send faxes.
