On flowroute and a couple of other
lines, google, etc, everybody I call
or get called by tells me they hear
their own echo.

Is there a fix for this or are we doomed?

check the volume settings on your VOIP phone. These are usually set by configuration files that the phone reads when it starts up. In many cases the mic is to 'hot' which overdrives things. You might have to drop it by 5-8db.
Another setting is 'sidetone' which controls the amount of audio that is fed from your mic to your earpiece so you can hear yourself. On a pure VOIP setup (no pots lines on your side) there really shouldn't be any echo.
If they are hearing themselves then their voice is being picked up by your own handsets mic.

There can be other issues that cause echo and relate to latency in the internet connection itself so with Flowroute you'll want to check your ping results since Flowroute proxies its RTP audio.

I do not have a voip phone yet, this is a DAHDI board, sorry forgot to mention.
I have tried tweeking the rx and tx gain of the board
and switching the taps of echocancel (32, 64, 128, 256)
and bridging settings, nothing affected it.

The echo is the worst when making or receiving calls from
mobile (cell) phones.

So are you using a soft phone on a mobile or are you dialling into a DISA and then dialling out again. When you say you are using a DAHDI board what exactly do you mean (what is it and how is it connected?). You mention various VoIP providers in your original post? Are calls coming in via the DAHDI connection and out via the VoIP providers?

Using samsung standard gsm cel phone, not smartphone.
Using openvox a400p DAHDI for connections of analogue
phones into the server via the standard (not express) pci slot.
Dialling out with analogue phone into DAHDI board, then through
a voip service over the dsl connection.

HMMM. Can I set up each Obihai to hit the internal IP
of the server then? I did not know it could do that, that
obihai must be a pretty kick butt adaptor, I have only 4
extensions, so it should not be too expensive.

WHY does this BOARD keep GOING back to the beginning...

I use Google Chrome, and it doesn't do what I think you are saying, like going back to the first post in a thread? Mine works fine.
