NO JOY googletts-cli.pl: Failed to fetch speech data

Yesterday I had to adjust a voice prompt, but got the error below.
Assuming and hoping that Google TTS service was temporarily down, I tried today again.
I cant figure out why I am getting this, do you get the same?

/var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/googletts-cli.pl -o test.wav -l en -s 1.0 -r 8000 -t "Welcome."
/var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/googletts-cli.pl: Failed to fetch speech data. at /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/googletts-cli.pl line 169.

And the same silence for using Google TTS in extensions_custom.conf:

exten => 415,1,Answer
same => n,Wait(1)
same => n,agi(googletts.agi,"Welcome.",en)
same => n,Hangup
