Fail2ban consumes 110% of CPU resources, according to TOP command. This started all of a sudden, this Tuesday after a server restart. I did not do any updates or configuration changes. I found a workaround - service fail2ban stop service fail2ban start seems to fix the issue. Played with /etc/rc2.d to move fail2ban to start last - did not help (it is already last S99...). Now I might miss when the server restarts, and asterisk is inoperable till fail2ban is restarted. Ubuntu 14.04 Incredible 11-12.1 rentpbx.com Thanks!
