I recently bought a Polycom IP 550 off eBay. It was unfortunately provisioned to a SIP providers managed pbx service. The seller didn't know the admin password, as I'm sure others are aware there's no factory reset so I decided to update it from my http server by handing the phone a nameserver IP which had a wildcard DNS entry to point to my web server. I copied the files with a sip config etc to the locations it was looking for. I thought all good...
However now I'm getting an error about the phone looking for a polycom/sip.ld (note there's no .com there)... Now its stuck in a boot loop and won't boot the phone...
Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to re-install the sip app for the polycom from t*f*t*p or similar? I've got Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_8_Rev_C_release_sig_combined.zip but I think I need an older version?
This is just for a home install but I'd like to get some more cheap Polycom's from eBay as they are awesome phones!
Any suggestions? Would love unbrick my 550.
