TIPS Cross purposes

I think I'm running into trouble here with incrediblepbx and am at cross purposes.

If I make the entries in sip.conf per voipms am I making redundant entries?

Should I modify , for instance "Incoming calling rules" in the Incrediblepbx-GUI as opposed to doing it in extensions(_custom).conf as instructed by voip.ms?
Are double entries happening?
I can't call in to my pbx.
I can call out.

The instructions from VOIP-MS are for Asterisk. FreePBX manages the config files in Asterisk. PIAF adds more functionality and options to FreePBX. Unless there's a compelling reason to do so, you should always use the GUI to manage your phone system, especially for basic stuff like setting up extensions and trunks.
