GOOD NEWS Cisco 7900 for Raspberry Pi Tutorial in Resources

Discussion in 'Open Discussion' started by snarpatroid, May 22, 2013 at 2:20 PM.

  1. I can't believe how pleased I am to be back on here, thanks to Ward and the team for getting this back online.

I was very lucky enough to salvage the hard work I'd put into the 7900 series phones when I was developing a guide earlier in the year. I have put this in the Resources section and the guide now lives at:

Although I wrote the guide with the Raspberry Pi in mind it should still be good as a general guiding principle for the 7900 series handsets on any Asterisk installation. As a rule of thumb the configuration files for the 7940 and 7960 handsets is quite different (and plenty of guides exist online how to configure these), the other files on directory searching, help files, using the services button and distinctive ringtones still apply.

I have also uploaded the posts out of my original thread on how to apply a presence patch for the 7900 series to enable lots of funky features:

And here is a brief guide how to upgrade firmware the easy way on a TFTP server:
