Yogi Berra was right. There is another Asterisk-GUI worth exploring. And Incredible PBX may soon provide an alternative for you to consider...

Well it's several months till April 1st so you would be a little premature with an April Fool's joke. Bad day at the office?

And there's more hidden away after the Asterisk Logs option...

You obviously have not explored the enhancements that Grandstream has made in Asterisk-GUI on the UCM6510. :cowboy:

Hey Ward!

Just curious, where are you pulling the Asterisk-GUI from? I do know that whatever changes Grandstream has made have not been pushed back to the repo at http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/asterisk-gui/. Not that they have to push those changes up stream mind you - it is an open source project and they are well within their rights to fork it, so long as they abide by the licensing of the project - but I am curious if you are looking at the Asterisk-GUI project at http://svn.asterisk.org or elsewhere.

Of course, the images are a different matter, since they may only be used in unmodified forms of the Asterisk-GUI project - which would mean it would have to be pulled from the svn.asterisk.org repo.

Whoops! Just as a heads up, I should clarify slightly - images cannot be used in any derivative works of the Asterisk-GUI without permission from Digium. From http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/asterisk-gui/trunk/LICENSE:

Use of Graphics and Logos
=========================
The images and logos included with Asterisk-GUI may only be distributed with
unmodified versions of the toolkit and may not be used in any derivative works
without special written permission from Digium.

Yup, if the source is unmodified and pulled from the repo, there shouldn't be any issues. It's only if modifications are made to the Asterisk-GUI that there'd have to be a change in the images.

Matt Jordan: We can certainly swap out the artwork if that makes everyone more comfortable. I assume Digium would want the copyright and trademark notices preserved. Yes??

ou812: yup, you're correct. It is no longer maintained. Unless someone is interested in maintaining it themselves in a forked repo, I would not recommend using it.

We're just having an exploratory look. Don't worry. Be happy.

Getting closer. Can you say, "Zippy Quick!" The Baker's Dozen Apps all work as well.

It's DID Day in the Asterisk-GUI Lab with some surprises...

Once you've plugged in your credentials for the various providers, Asterisk-GUI works like this without any further configuration:

Dial 10-digit number - Out Google Voice trunk
9 + 10-digit number - OutVoIPms
8 + 10-digit number - OutVitelity
7 + 10-digit number - Outlesnet
6 + 10-digit number - OutIPcomms
5 + 10-digit number - OutDIDlogic
4 + 10-digit number - OutCallCentric
3 + 10-digit number - OutFutureNine
2 + 10-digit number - AnveoDirect

You can dial prefix + 1 + 10-digit number with any of the above trunks as well.

These obviously can be adjusted for International Calling or to meet local needs, if desired.

Free Worldwide iNum calling is supported through VoIP.ms and CallCentric, NOT Google which now charges for these calls. You can sign up for a free number with either VoIP.ms or CallCentric. This Nerd Vittles article has the details.

To place iNum calls from any phone, use the last 7 numbers of the destination iNum, i.e. skip the 8835100 prefix:

0XXXXXXX - OutCallCentric
90XXXXXXX - OutVoiPms
