If you have a need to create a general virtual mailbox for after our services, and you want send instant notification of a voice-mail in your inbox via sms as well as vm attachment to multiple people, here is how.

Please note:
DO not try this on your production pbx. Try it on a test machine.
Make sure you voicemail to email is working.

at command prompt type : hostname -f
This will give you your FQDN. In my case it is newpbxiaf32.local
Then on command prompt type nano /etc/aliases

In the end type this
emails: [email protected],[email protected],[email protected] (You get the picture)

After that for multiple sms Type this

pagers: [email protected],[email protected] (You get the picture)

Then CTL + X to save the changes.
Then type
newaliases
If you get no errors, you are good to go.
Next in your freepbx, go to that virtual extension.
Enable voicemail.
In the email addess filed insert
emails@yourFQDN, in my case it was [email protected]
Next, in Pager email addresses insert
pagers@your FQDN, in my case it was [email protected]
(Note if your insert emails@localhost, freepbx will complain about not a valid email address.)
Select email attachments to yes.
Save.
Leave a message, and receive multiple sms as well as emails.
Enjoy!!!!!

Sorry if I missed something. I thought the question was how to send voicemail to several email addresses.

My post works for me! And much easier than other solutions.

The original post is 9 years old. No need to revive it.

Actually, you should have created a new thread. Or included in your post that you have a new method for updated systems would have at least provided a reason for why you revived an old thread. Reviving threads from 9 years ago is really not helpful. So much has changed in the past couple years, never mind going back 9 years.

The old post still shows up at the top of google searches when I tried to solve the problem. I thought it helpful for anyone searching 9 years after the original post to know today there's another answer.

Trying to help, but if you think it more useful, go ahead and delete it.
