Running 2.0.6.5 as a Hyper-V guest

Today a user says that she used to see the name of the person she was calling before they picked up (internal calls) 4 digit extensions.

I have no idea when this started. I hadn't rebooted in months. I know it used to work, but I make so few calls I never noticed it.
Snom 710 phones.
To sum up
Internal calls, 4 digit extensions. PIAF 2.0.6.5 users used to see the NAME and number of the person they were dialing before the person picked up. Now all we see is the extension number.

I rebooted, looked at the extensions, but everything looks normal. I unpacked a phone with an older firmware and tried, but no go.

Any tips?
Thanks

Could it be the internal call list on the phone?

There never really was a call list. I do have an LDAP button for lookup that still works.
When I'm dialing, my phone will lookup, past calls, from its number dialed list. That's the only way I've seen phones do what you are saying. My phones start to match digits after the 2nd digit.

Just a thought - Do the 'users' have to Login to the phone ? or is the user name configured into the internal extension as John/7002 or something?

Don't need to login. username auto provisioned.

What do the call logs show? Is it just this one phone? Perhaps a SIP debug is in order.
SNOM phones can do this from the phone's web UI directly.

All phones. what logs do you suggest? All phones are provisioned the same. also all the Snoms are on the latest firmware. Monday I'll setup a phone manually to see if any difference.

Asterisk call logs should be fine - either snippets from /var/log/asterisk/full or real-time from asterisk -vvvr.
For this specific issue, a SIP Debug from the Snom's end may work better. I don't have a Snom web UI in front of me at the moment, but there's an option to pull a SIP debug from the web interface. I'd give that a shot.

It looks like the SIP Trace from the phone gives the clue. The INVITE has my from, but the "To" is empty. The display name should precede the <sip:4954 blah blah blah>

I downgraded two of the Snom 710s to an earlier firmware with no success. Part of my issue is that I don't remember when it worked last. Ugh

anyone have any input on this? I setup a Polycom phone and it didn't show the name of the person I called either. I'm starting to think something happend during a restart of the piaf server.

Doh! My fault. It just hit me. I found the issue. a Few weeks ago myy new boss told me to put the entire phone number in the users details in AD. Before this I just had the extension. I did assign an LDAP button on the phone but didn't think the Snom look at this while making a call. Anyway, I put back the extension number and it works.

Definitely. I had no idea the Snom phones were doing a lookup when I dialed. I just assumed when I set the ldap "button" up, it just acted as a directory users could use to locate a number... anyway. Glad that's off my list of shit to do. Thank you everyone.
