FOOD FOR THOUGHT Is it just me or is this web site not working properly?

Hello:

I have been experiencing a lot of trouble with this site;
  1. Opening the site takes a very long time.
  2. Switching from one forum category to another takes a very long time.
  3. Switching categories is often unsuccessful, that is, I click on "Help" but never get there.
  4. Sometimes my posts blow up.
  5. It takes a long time to get the 'your post has been posted' message.
Is this normal, or, does the site know its me and want me to go away? :)
Thanks,

I agree with lgaetz; in fact, this is one of the speedier forums I visit. You know the drill Robert.Thompson - try a different browser, maybe also alternate DNS resolvers (sometimes slow DNS makes everything else seem slow). Google's public DNS resolvers are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Thanks for responding. :)
My DNS is already set to the two Google numbers.
I have the same problem with Chrome & Firefox on linuxmint.
I do not have this problem with any other site - that is why I posted my question.
I'll try it on Windows 7 but I don't really like windoz.
Thanks again for your time,

Robert.Thompson: Try reading more threads than you post. Seriously. Then log out from your account and back in. See if that helps.

That Ward Mundy is just too spooky. My kitchen oven cooks things too slowly so I tried the same thing. I put in more stuff then I take out and cycled the circuit breaker. It now cooks normally.

So, really, what's the trick? I'm fascinated by this wizardry. Does the forum have some smarts to prevent spamming by throttling users who post a lot without reading a lot?

With the number of attempted attacks on forums such as ours, I think we're all better served by not revealing too much. Thankfully, this is a rare occurrence for the vast majority of users.

Interesting....very, very interesting. :)

This sounds like a perfectly good reason to apply more tinfoil cranially.......
