Should you be able to call the DID that Vitelity assigned to the Vitelity FMC phone? I get a line busy when calling it from any phone.

Got my phone May 25th. Still working with Vitelity! No success yet! Is it necessary to have a working Vitelity DID on your phone system before setting up the vMobile phone?
I have followed the instructions from the Nerd Vittles article. I'm behind NAT and in my router, I have a route from vitelity to my pbx with the proper ports forwarded to the pbx. I get this errormessage -
[2014-07-10 17:39:22] NOTICE[9934][C-0000007c] chan_sip.c: Failed to authenticate device "+1843xxxxxxx"<sip:[email protected]>
Looks like it is trying to authenticate on the caller id. Every different phone number that I call from fails trying to authenticate on its caller id.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Vitelity provides DID for the phone. No other DID should be necessary.

Maybe I asked the wrong question before. According to Chris Brown in reference to your instructions on setting up the vMobile phone,"The article is assuming that you already have trunking setup with us."
Is a Vitelity trunk needed for successful setup?
His other comment says they are not getting a response from their invite. From the way I read this sip debug on my server, it looks like a response, but I'm no expert.

How is everyone getting along with there vMobile?

I now have two of them My wife is using one it is a reconditioned S3 and I have a new S4
My Wife likes hers and uses it every day!

My S4 is working good now that I reset it. But have a few oddities:

1) when I make an outgoing call to anyone the call will ring for 30 sec about 4-5 rings then I get a message that goes something like this. You are not authorized to make calls to this caller.(or something like that) So I cannot leave messages for any one. Strange...

2) On my S4 phone when I call my voice mail on Asterisk I have set up the 1 DTMF key to call my vmail box and enter the password works great BUT when I try to enter a DTMF command Touch tones are not sent so I am stuck there.

Is any one have these similar issues?

Other that that it works great!

Time to revive an old thread....

I'm thinking of using vitelity and buying a vmobile phone. Can anyone please give me advice on the easiest way to make this setup work.

Is RentPBX a good solution for hosting PBX, using vitelity for the trunking and buying a vMobile device? I'm looking for stability, and easy setup.

In addition to the fomer post of Philip, what security issues are present when using this new technology? i.e., all the concerns using a cellphone service? or .......? Any comment.would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well for my wife and I we still have Vmobile. I have the Samsung G4 and she has the S3 both of these are refurbished from Vitelity.
I have updated both units to the latest available from vitelity Android 4.4.4 / build 141202465 Since the update my DTMF issue with getting my voice mail is fixed. But there are a few items to be aware of

1) Voice mail indication does not function. * Brief description * If someone leaves a voice mail message on Asterisk PBXIAF it will not light the LED on the Vmobile phone. What I do is have it send me an email with the vmail attached that I can play back from the phone. There does not seem to be a way to get the message waiting LED on the G4 or G3 to lite up to let you know you have a message waiting.

2) Vehicle Microsoft Sync text receive issue *Brief description * When in the car using Bluetooth connected to the cars interface if you receive a text message to the Number that I assigned to the phone you do not see it on the cars display. Al thought the phone does receive it. What I have noticed is that I can get it to work if I text the number that originally came in the phone which is a 303 number. If I use the phone when not connected to the car sync I can receive texts to the numbed I assigned to the phone with out an issue.

3) Original Number 303... I get calls. * Brief description * OK here we go ....Some how we get calls to the original phone number that the Vmobile shipped with even though I have assigned another local number to the phone and released the old DID in the vitelity web portal. I never see the call in the Asterisk logs at all. This happens on my wife's S3 Vmobile, she gets automated calls from a Colorado Library about overdue books or something to that affect. There no way to block these call in PBXIAF because it does not come through it.

4) WiFi calling sometimes drops... take this with a grain of sand because I am not sure if its the public Wifi network causing the drop call.

Dont get me wrong I am not complaining at all just a few issues above. It works great We have LTE here and the data is fast and the cost is much cheaper that I can get from any other carrier.

Hope that helps

Reliability for me is useless!

WIFI calling sometime will drop even when connected to a strong private AP
Can’t hear or be heard on many calls (WIFI or cell)

Phone will not work on wifi alone.

Hand off to cell and from cell drops many calls

When originating some wifi calls, I will get ‘call ended’ message on the phone when the called party answers. If the called party remains off hook my v mobile will receive an incoming call from the party I called.

I changed my original DID to a local DID. Received over 100 calls in the last 6 months (since clearing call logs) none were routed through the PBX. More than half were from 603 AC. The phone MIN is 603xxxxxxx.

Text message takes about a day to send, appears to wait on cell service.
I’ve received delayed text messages, the longest was a week after it was sent.

I have been a vMobile customer for a long time. It is so useless, I think the phone as 1/2" of dust on it. Not recommended. Not ready for prime time. Won't recommend to any clients.

Great team, good company, bad implementation, and no support for the vMobile team from the parent. Not a good combo!

It looks like "the corporate suck" has set in post-Onvoy acquisition, and the vMobile offering has been put out to pasture.

Option to purchase vMobile devices has disappeared from my portal and a support ticket I opened about the service has remained unanswered for over a month now.

Getting real tired of this phenomenon.

VMobile is dead. It never worked well anyway and Vitelity advised me not to buy it in the first place.

Yea noticed this awhile ago. I also have had to install their SMS client just to get the texting working again to the vMobile. It seems that they have some issue pinning VMobile to the text number. They had me try to pin it with the vitelity My Phone app on the vMobile phone but it keeps failing. I have had three Open Support tickets for this issue since 3/9/17 No Resolution

The other strange thing that has been going on ...twice this has happened is the Vmobile cannot make outgoing calls I put in a support ticket for the DID and Vitelity fixes it quickly. Incoming call work fine.

If you have any Vmobile issues I just post the problem to the DID number associated with the Vmobile they do respond to those tickets.

I liked the Vmobile but its not with out issues from time to time. I wanted some newer phone hardware but now that is not going to be offered.

I don't know if it's turned off.
At least they aren't selling it anymore and have dropped support for it.

So if the service has issues, they just wont respond?

What client is that?
It's S.MS. I had to side load it as it wasn't in the Google Play Store. You can also use about any XMPP chat client to connect to their third party SMS provider.
