It occurs to me to wonder about this. If I port a bunch of numbers to a new(er) provider, and they go away, how do I recapture the numbers?

Anyone know?

Typically, you still have time to port out numbers if you get the request in before the provider shuts down. So far, I haven't seen a company shut down without giving about a month's notice. And yes, many of the "ultra cheap" providers don't make it. It is highly recommended to stick with bigger, well established companies such as Vitelity, Anveo, etc.
