Was ec2 support discontinued? I had just started planning to move my piaf pbx to ec2 but ran across this post

Not at the present time. Amazon rates have remained reasonable after the one-year expiration.

New Amazon T2.micro instances are half the price of former T1.micro (still available) and have better performance. Only problem is that we cannot evolve T1->T2 so I'm a bit stacked. Any plan to launch a new T2.micro AMI instance? It would be greatly appreciated and, moreover having a new available in Europe.

Just a quick set of questions. I have searched, and ultimately found this thread which is a little sparse, but does have some detail.

what I cannot figure out until now -

(1) Is there an officially supported statement as to whether ec2/Amazon is supported for hosting PBXIAF images?
(2) Are the recommended images 64 or 32-bit in nature?
(3) Is there an alternative guide to setting it up from scratch, using CentOS as the guestOS?

Thanks!

There will be no further work on the Amazon EC2 platform. There are a number of Cloud-based PIAF and Incredible PBX solutions, all of which are cheaper and considerably easier to manage than Amazon EC2. RentPBX is a major corporate sponsor of our projects and offers a $15 a month plan that can't be beat in terms of reliability and performance. Details are available here.

For a VoIP sandbox (where reliability and performance are not your primary concern), there's also Digital Ocean at a cost of under a penny per hour of use. Details here.

No, excellent details - thanks Ward!

In further research, I checked out RentPBX, and it seems they have several options, of which I'm unsure.

Relevant, then, is this list of summarized versions of PBXIAF on RentPBX:

#1 - 1.7.x.x.x
#2 - 2.0.6.4.4
#3 - 3.6.5.x.x - "Build your own - SC Base"
#4 - Ver Unknown - "PBX In a Flash Incredible PBX" With Ubuntu 14.4

Questions, then:

(1) Are the first three CentOS variants?
(2) Is there a benefit from building my own?
(3) Are these 32 or 64bit VM's?

And finally - which would you recommend for a very small international consulting company with super minimal requirements for the first 6 months?

Thanks!

Either of the bottom two would serve you well. The Incredible PBX build has the advantage of having rock-solid security integrated into the platform.
