I"m running PIAF with freepbx 2.8.1.4, I downloaded your 2.10.0.5 and ran check for updates in configuration manager, updated Yealink. I deleted my mac.cfg file in tftpboot and deleted phone in EPM, recreated phone and all is good the only problem is I can not reboot phone from EPM I have to do a manual reboot for configs to take effect. I made more changes and did a rebuild and reboot but still no reboot, I check tftpboot and changes are made to file other than that all seems good on the Yealink side.

I can't explain the yealink not booting. It works fine here and nothing in that area changed...you can always try to reboot it manually.

New package online with some fixes: http://www.the159.com/endpointman/endpointman-2.10.0.9.tgz

Most notably I'm using codemirror (http://codemirror.net/mode/php/index.html) for any area where you'd normally edit configuration files.

Thanks for feedback - I'll prepare myself for the worst and export the endpoints to csv before I do anything. But how do i backup the templates?

I was wondering about that too.

Somewhere (in the 49 pages of this thread) it did tell us where the templates are stored, but if you don't want to dig that out, go to the templates using the EPM interface, and copy the contents to a Notepad file.

Then in the new version, paste them back in.

But, if the new version has some additional capabilities (like declaring Line Number for each softkey) you will not get that unless you start with the template from the new EPM or copy over the additional lines to the old template.

Remember there are also two different types of templates.

There is the type with the gui where you fill in the values

and then there is the type where you are editing the config files directly.

I'd need to know which one you are talking about first.

Ah,

I was talking about the non-gui, text based editor you get using the Advanced Settings of EPM.

As for the place where the programmable keys, ... is store, I do not know an easy copy/paste for that.

Coping your text based files is fine, nothing has changed that much.

The prog keys should be fine and transfer fine. It's mainly an issue with the text based stuff

In what directory would I find the stored template files?

For the text-based files It's all in the database if you used save..as.

for the prog keys its in the database

if you edited the files directly then it's /var/www/html/admin/modules/_ep_phone_modules

In what directory would I find the stored template files?

I just updated the main page to reflect the new endpoint manager, 2.10.x which can be used on all versions of freepbx from 2.6+

Hi,

I use Endpoint Manager 2.9.3.0. I have a problme with rebooting my phones after rebuilding configs. I use cisco spa 504 with firmware 7.4.7.

It worked ok in previous versions.

Could you advise, please.

Regards,
Konrad

First try using a newer version. Then try to run the reboot command manually and see if it works or not.

This is the command you should run in asterisk: 'sip notify spa-reboot <ext>'

Snom 821

SNOM has a new phone, the 821.

If I manually rename the endpoint manager created files from snom820-XXXXXXXX to be snom821-XXXXXXXXX files in the /tftpboot/ directory, they seem to do the trick.

Is there something I can easily change in the endpoint manager to have it treat the 821 the same as an 820?

The 821 has been included for quite some time already. You should update your endpoint manager.....

Any update on this? Just tried grabbing the latest version and I don't see a way of editing the line labels... :)

Look for the setting linekeys in mac_reg.cfg, it will be set for each line and you'll need to set it back to 1 for each line. Then you will have what you want.

I just got contracted out to work on this phone so this weekend your settings and requested features should be in there. I'll update the thread when I'm done

Thanks,

Carlos.

I feel stupid. I did the update from the "End Point Configuration" module and assumed that was enough.

Thanks again for the rapid response.

Normally yes. But every once in a while I have to fork it away as I add features specific to endpoint manager and not the backend library.

Confused about changes to Polycom provisioning

It seems like the way Polycom phones are provisioned has completely changed in the last year. Until now, I have supplied the cfg options in a separate custom cfg file according to Polycom's best practices... This was accomplished by adding the file to the CONFIG_FILES directive of the template and worked fine in EPM 2.9.0.3RC5.

Unfortunately that EPM version is causing problems when attempting to provision other models as mentioned earlier in the thread and I'm preparing for an upgrade. The new provisioning method is a mystery to me - is there any documentation out there explaining the new way? Will the old phone configs work with the new EPM module and how does one go about incorporating the old custom cfg file to the new templates?

What's the best way to capture the config that is existing on the phone and import it to the endpoint manager so that I can start making changes and try and sort through some of the things that do and do not work? Does anyone have a standard config that mirrors the aastra scripts?

Thanks

Log into the Aastra phone's web gui. Go to trouble shooting (bottom left). Then click Get server.cfg. This should be a good start.
